COMMUNICATION TO MEMBERS 13TH JUNE 2020

COMMUNICATION TO MEMBERS 13TH JUNE 2020

Dear members

As we go through the Steps set out by GUI/ILGU, certain restrictions have been lifted and we aim to implement changes as best we can. By doing this we must consider our voluntary members who carry out certain roles within the club and how this impacts on their safety and wellbeing.  This will be our fist consideration at all times. Presently the course is only open to paid –up members. There is no facility to have guests or visitors playing for now. Below we have set out some guidelines.

  • Social golf will continue for now. The Ladies’ and Men’s Golf Committees will decide if and when competitions will begin and how they will operate.
  • Members must always sign into BRS. This is essential in order to comply with the Government’s CONTACT TRACING system. Please remove your name if you do not intend to play to allow others to play.
  • BRS will operate 9 hole slots Mon – Friday. Players may opt to play 18 holes but MUST re-enter their group for a second 9 holes.
  • BRS will operate 18 hole slots on Saturday and Sunday. Up to 4 players may play at any time on any day.
  • Under 18’s MUST play with an adult member.( Monday – Friday)
  • The toilets will be available from 9 am – 6pm. Entrance and exit is by the external doors only. Only ONE person may enter at a time. There are hand sanitisers inside the doors. Please continue to have your own sanitiser on the course.
  • We would remind everyone to keep to social distancing and continue with the hand washing/ sanitising regime.

Things are moving at a pace and we will endeavour to keep you informed as we receive further guidance from GUI/ILGU.

On a positive note it is great that we are all playing and enjoying our golf. Our 9 hole availability has been very successful and feedback from members has been very positive.

Thanks to everyone who has contributed in any way to getting things up and running again.

GUI / ILGU Protocol for Golf Course

On Monday 18th May the N. Ireland Assembly announced the relaxing of restrictions on golf, and we are pleased to confirm that we will be reopening the golf course and practice grounds for MEMBERS ONLY on Wednesday 20th May. As a member it is vitally important that you adhere to the following protocols -

Firstly please familiarise yourself with the protocols which were issued by the GUI / ILGU –

https://www.golfnet.ie/news/golfnet/4672/protocol-for-golf-in-northern-ireland-published

Please watch the video link explaining how you put this into practice as well.

 https://www.golfnet.ie/news/golfnet/4673/video-stay-safe-on-the-course-northern-ireland

  • Members with colds or any symptoms of COVID 19 are to stay away from the golf course/carpark/club house.

  • The Club House and toilets will remain closed for now.

  • Bring your own hand sanitiser and use regularly.

  • You can only play if BOOKED IN ADVANCE on BRS.  To facilitate contact tracing all players names must be displayed on the online timesheet, the guest booking option should NOT be used in any circumstances.

  • In the spirit of the game, please book only 1 tee time per day in advance to allow all members an opportunity to play.

  • At this stage you can only play 9 holes.

  • Booking slots are spaced at 15 minute intervals, please do not arrive in the car park no more than 15 mins before your tee time.

  • Play is limited to a maximum of 3 players per group - these do not necessarily need to be members of your own household.

  • Social distancing must be observed at all times, in the carpark and on the course.

  • The Flags MUST NOT be touched - we have purchased 'Putt Buddies' which allow for non-contact ball removal.

  • Under 18's - Can play at any time on weekdays, but MUST be accompanied by an adult member, preferably from their own family.  They should be booked in advance on BRS with the adult member.

  • Only use the practice putting green immediately prior to your own round - observe social distancing measures.

  • On finishing your round of golf, go directly to your car and leave.

  • Practice Grounds - The same rules apply for the Practice Grounds as for the Golf Course.

Any queries please consult the protocol – see link above.

At last we can return to the fairways, it’s brilliant that golf is one of the sports that has been allowed to resume.  Enjoy your golf whilst adhering to the guidelines.

MESSAGE FROM LADY CAPTAIN SIOBHAN & MR CAPTAIN DOMINIC

MESSAGE FROM LADY CAPTAIN SIOBHAN AND MR CAPTAIN DOMINIC
Dear Members,
We are currently experiencing a traumatic and difficult time in all our lives. Little did Siobhan and I
know when we took on our roles as Captains, that we all would be facing such a tough challenge in
2020.
Everyone has worked really hard to keep the club going but unfortunately this has become an
impossible task .
Our main concern now is the health and well being of our members ,and wish them all to keep safe
and well.
We know that we have never witnessed anything like this before, but we have to be positive , and
hope that we will get through this and the club will return bigger and stronger than before.
We will keep in touch through social media and encourage all members to do so as well.
Please keep safe and follow all the advice out there to protect yourselves, and hope we will see you
all soon on the 1st tee
Lady Captain Siobhan & Mr Captain Dominic
