Cushendall Golf Club express their sincere condolences to the Campbell family on the death of our Past Captain and member Thomas Campbell.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Joan, Aine, Ciara and Eoghan, his mother Rosemary, his sisters Mandy, Paula, Rosie and Sara, his brothers Joey and Philip and the entire family circle. We also remember Tommy’s late father Joe and late brother Peter at this difficult time.
Tommy was Captain of Cushendall Golf Club in 2004 and played a leading role in every aspect of the club including teams, youth, committees and council.
Tommy was heavily involved in everything good about the Glens: Ruairi Og CLG, Lurig Drama Group (Chairman), the Glens Choir, Cushendall Golf Club and recently Vice Chairperson of Antrim GAA.
Tommy had a distinctive singing voice which he gratefully shared with others on many occasions. When performing his party piece ‘The Dutchman’ Tommy’s voice instantly brought a bustling bar to complete silence before encouraging everyone to join in on the chorus.
Let us go to the banks of the ocean, Where the walls rise above the Zuider Zee.
Long ago, I used to be a young man, And dear Margaret remembers that for me.
Tommy's Remains will leave his home on Thursday at 11.15am for Requiem Mass in St Mary's Church Cushendall at 12 noon. Burial afterwards in adjoining graveyard.
Ar Dheis Dé go raibh a anam.
Note: Course is closed on Thursday 11am - 2pm in a mark of respect.
