Important Notice Regarding Damage

General Club Noticeboard : Important Notice Regarding Damage

There has been a significant increase in damage caused to property adjoining the course from wayward shots, and as a result our insurance claims have increased to reflect this.

It is important that all members, and visitors, are aware of the procedure in relation to this matter. The club is insured for instances of unintentional damage, and in the majority of cases the golfer will have no liability.  The golfer does, however, need to report the incident, confirming the date, time and circumstances of the event.  If we do not have this information the insurers MAY NOT cover the claim, and we may be forced to seek recompense from the golfer involved.  Please contact the club Honorary Secretary, Kevin McCann at kevin.mccann@rocketmail.com, or by Text, WhatsApp or phone call to 07921 394809 to report ANY instances of potential claim. We would also ask that all golfers remain vigilant, and be prepared to come forward with relevant information to support the claim process.

There has been a significant increase of balls going left on the Third hole, entering residents’ gardens, and indeed causing significant damage.  This is of great concern to our neighbours.  At present, thankfully, this damage has been limited to items such as windows and vehicles, however, there is obviously the worrying possibility of a resident or one of their children being hit by a stray ball, particularly as we enter the better weather and the residents will be using their gardens more frequently.

We would ask that every golfer is extra vigilant when playing their tee shots along this hole. If we find that this situation is not improving we may be forced to take drastic action, such as bring the “out of bounds” close to the left edge of the fairway, or being forced to move the teeboxes to reduce the likelihood of balls ending up in a dangerous area.

It is every golfer’s responsibility to comply with these requirements, in the event of non- compliance, the Club may find itself in a position where we become “uninsurable”, and would have to meet the costs of each incident ourselves.  We all need to be aware that this could lead to a significant increase in green fees at best.  With this in mind could we ask that all members make themselves aware of this requirement, and ensure that all other golfers are reminded of their responsibility in regard to this matter.
