Hole 5 (Ailsa Craig) - 143 Metres, Par 3

A relatively short hole but made much trickier by the tee shot across the river to an elevated green which lies just above the high river bank.  The green is bunkered on both sides with a bank and hedge close behind. Trees growing along the river bank also add to the problems and any ball hit 'above the equator' is heading for a watery grave.  More senior club members have been known to lay up short of the river and then chip up over in order to be able to continue a stroke-play round! Five of the tee is not unheard of.
