Dear Members
In light of recent developments in relation to the rapidly evolving situation surrounding the COVID 19 outbreak Cushendall Golf Club intends to follow the guidance issued by the GUI and ILGU which can be found here -
This guidance suggests further updates by 29th March which, again, we will follow.
However, should this change before this date we will obviously amend our stance appropriately.
The health and safety of our members of Cushendall Golf Club, staff and our wider community is paramount and as a result we have decided to implement the following procedures with immediate effect. We considerate ourselves fortunate that whilst the majority of other local sporting facilities are currently unavailable, recreational golf continues and we ask everyone to adhere to the recommended guidelines.
Our bar and restaurant facilities will remain open and available. Please continue to support the bar and restaurant but follow the guidance to ensure your safety and the safety of our members, staff and wider community.
How will this impact on Cushendall Golf Club ?
1. Golf Matters
As stated in the GUI/ILGU guidance, normal recreational golf can proceed, but we must observe precautions such as forgoing ALL contact, for example handshakes and embraces which would be normal practice and etiquette.
Inter club matches can also proceed, but there will no post-match meals.
Visitors - all visitors must provide a name and contact number so that they can be traced should a situation arise. If you are bringing visitors into the club, please make sure that they leave contact details with the staff. Please note – if a visitor has made a booking via BRS we will hold their email address should we need to contact them.
The St Patricks Day sweep will proceed as planned.
Members should not attend the facilities, course or clubhouse, if they have symptoms suggesting infection of COVID 19.
2. Social Matters
All events which gather groups in the clubhouse have been cancelled/postponed. This includes Bridge, U3A, Choir, Judo, Pilates etc.
The Comhaltas group will not be in attendance on St Patrick's Day. However the bar will be open and food will be available from 1.30pm to 7pm.
Bar/restaurant facilities will be available as normal subject to some changes. The Caterer will have knowledge of these requirements. We intend to practice social distancing, members will notice a change to the spacing of seating and tables. For example the bar stools have now been removed to allow adequate social spacing between the customers and bar staff.
All club staff will be given guidance on matters surrounding this outbreak, so please be compliant with any requests staff make.
There will be increased signage throughout the club and we would ask that all members take the appropriate actions, but most importantly the most effective way of combating this outbreak is to –
WASH YOUR HANDS REGULARLY !
Kind Regards
Council Members, Cushendall Golf Club
