14th August 2026 Cushendall Golf Club Film, 'Trad', & Session
Winner of the audience award at this year’s Galway Film Fleadh, Trad is a hugely entertaining celebration of Irish music, written and directed by Lance Daly (Kisses, Black ’47).
From their home in the Donegal Gaeltacht, gifted fiddle player Shóna McAnally and her little brother Mickey take to the road with a troupe of wandering musicians, on a cross-country journey of adventure, romance, and musical exploration.
Trad introduces rising Irish stars Megan Nic Fhionnghaile and Cathal Coade Palmer, alongside a stellar supporting cast including Aidan Gillen (Game of Thrones, Kin), Sarah Greene (Bad Sisters, Black ‘47), Peter Coonan (King Frankie, Love/Hate) and Ann Skelly (Rose Plays Julie, Four Letters of Love). Director: LANCE DALY, 90 mins, Ireland, 2025. Cert 15.
‘Few recent fiction films have thumped along so convincingly to the louder beats of the traditional form.’ - Irish Times
