Almost one year ago Hugh McManus suffered a cardiac arrest at his home in Cushendall.
While waiting for the ambulance a volunteer with the local community first responder scheme arrived and performed CPR and defibrillation on Hugh before he was brought to hospital. It was these quick actions that saved Hugh's life.
Over the past few months Hugh and the members of Cushendall Golf Club have raised £1503 for us and our lifesaving heart research. Today we were delighted and honoured that almost exactly one year on Hugh was with us to hand over a cheque from his clubmates in the beautiful Glens of Antrim club.
Huge thanks to everyone in Cushendall for your amazing support and to Hugh who is a true inspiration!
